New to the website, we have a great bunch of Eagle books to offer you this week!

Lots of celebratory collections and retrospective reproductions from the 1970s to the 2000s celebrating the wonderful artwork, characters and adventures from these well loved comics.

It’s that time of year again where we know that your orders may well need to arrive in time for 25^th December. Below you will find details of our Christmas shipping schedule to help you plan your ordering.

UK Orders:

UK orders (using both standard and tracked services) need to be received by midday (12 noon UK time) on Monday 18^th December at the very latest in order to be processed and posted in time for the 25^th.

International Orders:

Orders being delivered outside the UK with a standard delivery service must be placed by midday (12 noon UK time) on Monday 4^th December.

Orders using our International Tracked service must be placed by Wednesday 13^th December.

As ever, we cannot offer a 100% guarantee of delivery before 25^th December after a package has left us and is in the hands of the carrier, however we will continue to ship orders very quickly and all the way up to 22^nd December.

Since the cyber-attack on Royal Mail’s international systems on January 11th, mail overseas has been severely disrupted. The attack meant that RM were not able to process any international mail and so we were not able to despatch any mail overseas for a few weeks, so we held on to them here until we were advised to post. However, items that were posted in the week before the cyber-attack were, and could still be, held in the backlog of mail that built up at RM distribution centres.

Since the beginning of February, we have been able to send items with certain services, but Royal Mail are still asking customers to expect things to take longer than usual while they try and get through the huge backlog the attack caused.

Customers using International Tracked / International Tracked and Signed services may notice different tracking information and some delays to tracking events as items leave the UK. It is a good idea to check the tracking on your own country’s Post service’s tracking websites as well.

If you have paid for Tracked delivery and don’t have your tracking number, please get in touch and we will provide this to you.

If your order cannot be tracked and you still have not received your order, we ask that you remain patient until we hear more from Royal Mail. They are hoping to clear this backlog in the next few weeks.

International Orders: Due to a cyber incident at Royal Mail, please expect delays to the dispatch of your order if you select ‘Standard’ shipping.

On Wednesday 11th January, Royal Mail warned that they are experiencing severe service disruption to international export services following a cyber incident and are temporarily unable to dispatch items to overseas destinations. They advised that customers should not post international items until further notice. Items that have already been dispatched may be subject to delays.

If you are an international customer you can continue to order from us but if you select ‘Standard’ delivery at checkout, there will be delays to your order. We have been advised that our tracked courier services are operating as normal.

UPDATE:

UK Customers: With the additional days of Royal Mail industrial action and strikes we can no longer say that orders posted by Royal Mail will reach you before Christmas. We will of course continue to post out your orders up until 22nd December, but it is now unlikely that these will reach you before the big day.

If you do need your order sooner, please select Tracked shipping, these orders will be sent by courier such as DHL, but again, these services are under more strain than usual due to the industrial action taken by Royal Mail and the last orders will be booked in on Wednesday 21st.

December has snuck up on us again and we must let you know when to get your orders in if you need to receive them in time for Christmas!

If you are an international customer (outside the UK), then to have the best possible chance of having your orders delivered in time for Christmas day, please be sure to select our “tracked courier” delivery option at checkout. This option is usually based on a 5-7 working day turnaround, but at this busy time it would be best to get your orders in as quickly as possible, and at the very latest by Wednesday 14th December.

For UK customers, non-tracked delivery orders (which are sent by Royal Mail First Class) should be placed by Wednesday 15th December at the latest, while tracked orders should be placed by the end of Wednesday 21st December. We will ship orders a few times a week, and our final shipping day before Christmas will be Thursday 22nd December.

Due to industrial action there are longer than normal delays to delivery schedules, so it’s best to get your order in as soon as possible if you need it for Christmas Day. The above dates are guidance only, we recommend you don’t leave your order until the last minute.

Thursday the 3rd of March 2022 marks 25 years of World Book Day!

Here at CCS Books we love to encourage young and reluctant readers to get stuck into the classics of literature through our Classics Illustrated graphic novels, Real Reads and Baker Street Readers. We aim to make the world’s greatest stories accessible through masterful retellings that always honour the context and structure of the original.

Today we are featuring some of our Classics Illustrated hardbacks, specifically tailored with a modern cover to engage and educate young readers with some of the greatest works ever written, while still thrilling older readers who have loving memories of this timeless series.

     

We also want to highlight the features of our Real Reads series that make them so appealing to young readers as a bridge to the full texts, to reluctant readers as a gentle introduction to a world of wonderful literature, to language students wanting access to other cultures, and to adult readers who are unlikely ever to read the original versions, or simply don’t have time to!
