Description
CCS Books proudly presents this commemorative Limited Edition package of the Complete Classics Illustrated issue #1, Alexandre Dumas’s The Three Musketeers.
To celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the Classics Illustrated comic book series, CCS Books have lovingly restored and remastered the original 62-page interior artwork by Malcolm Kildale, including its wonderful line-drawn front cover. We present this here in an 80-page hardback book, with a new history of the series by avid collector and publisher, Jeff Brooks, and an introduction by William B. Jones, Jr, author of Classics Illustrated: A Cultural History.
Coupled with a second hardback book featuring George Evans’s completely re-drawn second interior art from 1959 and the instantly recognisable and much-loved painted cover by John Parker, this set is presented in a gorgeous, sturdy slipcase, with gold foil lettering and Parker’s fabulous painting in full-view.
Exclusive to the CCS Books site, this set is the definitive Classics Illustrated collection of Dumas’s seminal work.

Here’s what customers so far have had to say about theirs…
“Just received this “very” special edition. I just wanted to let you know what an outstanding edition this was. You should be really proud.”
“Fantastic! Beautifully done. Makes me wish I hadn’t sold my original #1!”
“Brilliant – first class. Superb publication and couldn’t be more pleased.”
And here’s what Bill Jones, author of Classics Illustrated: A Cultural History had to say:
“What a handsome, meticulously crafted job CCS Books has done with the restoration of these volumes! I can’t sing “all Glory, Laud, and Honour” loud enough or often enough to express my admiration and respect for the absolute perfection of this beautiful landmark publication. The attention to detail throughout–from the exquisitely designed slipcase to the 1941 and 1959 title-page lettering to the original colouring of the final page of the Kildale version to the period-correct back covers–is a testament to the care CCS Books has taken to get absolutely everything right.”
